Harting 10 Trail Race - 2024

Our 8th annual Harting Trail Race was held on Sunday, August 4th at 10:30am.  A fabulous race day for everyone attending. We enjoyed hosting our event for the running community, with runners coming from near and far to take on the challenging terrain of the course.

New Course record was set this year by the amazing James Baker from Chichester Runners and AC in an incredible time of 57:31!  2nd position the talented Zared Arasaretnam-Hale from Brighton & Hove City AC, 58:02 and 3rd place, Charlie Pickett from Guildford & Godlaming AC, 1:00:08.

1st lady finisher, Christine McCullogh from Baffins Fitclubin 1:14:20, followed by Anna Wemyss, 1:16:04, and Jess Pilgrim from Hook Runners in 1:16:37. Our own club runner to finish first was the talented Joe Sykes, who ran really well in 6th place in a time of 1:05.

197 runners participated with 227 entries this year, up on last year, which is fantastic.  The weather was perfect, but still warm for the athletes, marshalling was well covered around the course and lots of encouragement given to the runners.

Jhon Cosgrove gave a fun presentation with HOKA trainer spot prizes and organising free use of HOKA trainers for participants and useful advice.

Benjamin Salvetti-Langton and his lovely wife Charlotte , with therapists including Ellie Bryan from Body & Mind Physiotherapy and Sports Injuries clinic were in full flow giving free sports massage during the event and post race to athletes, also kindly donating spot prizes of free sports massage.

Thanks to Andy Turner our Race Director and Catherine Seager, our club chairperson for presenting prizes and time keeping duties.  Thank you to The Rosemary Foundation - Hospice at Home volunteers for running the refreshments and all the other members of our club and families who help out to make it happen.  Special thanks to all the runners who took part and from the Hampshire Road Race League clubs.  Photos taken by our trail running member, James Yeardley who has shared his icloud link: www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#BOh5ZhN2vRoXtu.
